Premiere of “Will Remain” | Opus Westerdok 610, Amsterdam
On 28 March 2025, we had the pleasure of presenting the premiere of our concert series Will Remain at Opus Amsterdam, Westerdok 612.
Will Remain is a project close to our hearts. As Duo Lehit—panflutist Taras Berchtold and pianist Anastasiia Bohodysta—we are committed to shedding light on the rich yet often overlooked world of Ukrainian classical music. In the months leading up to the premiere, we researched and selected works by Ukrainian composers from different periods, focusing on pieces that had rarely, if ever, been performed. Through our arrangements for panflute and piano, we aimed to give these works a fresh sonic perspective and introduce them to new audiences, particularly in Western Europe.
A special highlight of the evening was the world premiere of Will Remain, a piece composed especially for our duo by the young Ukrainian composer Jeyana Morozenko, currently studying in The Hague. Her work reflects on Ukraine’s resilience and the emotional reality of refugees who have been separated from their families due to the ongoing war. Despite the gravity of its theme, the focus of the evening remained on the music itself—powerful, moving, and full of beauty.
It was a great joy to share this meaningful moment with our audience and to give voice to so many nearly forgotten composers.
We thank everyone who contributed to our crowdfunding and a special thank you to the Amarte fond for their funding, making this project possible!
